Frequently asked questions
Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?
No. This tool processes files entirely in your browser with JavaScript — nothing is uploaded. That makes it suitable for confidential documents like contracts, receipts or official paperwork.
How many PDFs can I merge?
You can merge many files at once, with each file up to about 100 MB. They are combined in the order you arrange them in the list.
Can I extract only certain pages?
Yes. In split mode, type page numbers or ranges such as 1-3, 5, 8-10 and the tool creates a new PDF containing just those pages, in the order you typed.
Can it open password-protected PDFs?
No. Encrypted PDFs are rejected with a clear message naming the file. That includes files with usage restrictions (e.g. print-restricted), because their contents are encrypted too — processing them anyway would hand you an unreadable PDF. Remove the password first (for example by opening the file and printing it to PDF), then run it through this tool.
