Frequently asked questions

What are invisible characters and why do they break things?
Zero-width spaces, joiners and byte-order marks are characters you cannot see but that still count as text. They sneak in when you copy from Word, LINE or websites, and they can break search matching, inflate character counts, and corrupt data in spreadsheets and databases.
Will it delete Thai vowels or tone marks?
No. Removing invisible characters and emoji is done with Unicode-aware rules that keep every Thai letter, vowel and tone mark intact. NFC normalization actually repairs decomposed Thai vowels such as ำ so your text stores and searches correctly.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. All cleaning happens in your browser with JavaScript. Your text never leaves your device, so it is safe to paste confidential content.
What does the "Paste from Word" preset do?
It turns on the options that fix the most common Word artifacts at once: removing invisible characters, straightening curly quotes and dashes, and collapsing the extra spaces Word tends to add.
Why keep the zero-width option optional for Thai?
Some Thai copy deliberately inserts a zero-width space as a soft line-break hint. Because you may want to keep those, invisible-character removal is a checkbox you control rather than something forced on every clean.
